Two Teachers Detained In North Kashmir For Making Prurient Video Viral On Social Media
URI: Police have identified three persons and have launched hunt to nab the outsiders involved in making a prurient video viral on social media.
Two teachers from Nambla Uri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district had chatted on social media site Facebook with a girl living outside Valley. The video chat is obscene and sexual in nature.
“The lady involved had video chatted with both the teachers with the purpose of extorting money from both of them and she had demanded money from both of them in lieu of keeping the video secret and had threatened them to upload it on social media sites in case they failed to. She eventually made the video viral on social media.”
A police official said that both these teachers were detained for questioning while three persons who have made this video viral or uploaded on social media have been identified and they will be arrested,” the police official told Kashmir News Trust.
He said a case under section 66E ,67 IT act, 384 and 418 IPC has been registered at police station Uri. These sections of law under Information Technology Act prohibit transmission of private images and obscene material over any medium, particularly on social media.
Police have asked netizens to be ware of such fraud tactics. (KNT)
