Two militants slain in Budgam gunfight
Budgam: Two militants were killed in a gunfight between government forces and militants at Machova area in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
Both the slain militants been identified as Javaid Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Wanpora Pulwama and Khalid @ Ilyas from Pakistan. They were affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militant outfit.
Earlier, government forces including Army’s 50 RR, CRPF and J&K Police on Tuesday evening had launched cordon and search operation in Machova area following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards suspected spot, hiding militants opened fire on them, triggering of gunfight.
