Two LeT militants slain in Anantnag encounter

Anantnag: Two militants were killed in an encounter between government forces and militants at Sirhama village in Bijbehara town of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday morning.

Both the slain militants were affiliated with (LeT) Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit and their identification is yet to be ascertained.

Earlier, government forces including Army’s 3 RR and J&K Police on Thursday evening had launched cordon and search operation in Sirhama village following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

The operation was resumed on Friday morning after halted for night due to darkness.

Meanwhile, police has recovered arms and ammunition from the encounter site.
