Two drug peddlers arrested in Awantipora: Police
Awantipora: Police claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers from Awantipora town in Pulwama district.
The duo has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Trag son of Ali Mohammad Trag, a resident of Tral and Mohammad Lateef Sheikh son of Abdul Rehman Sheikh, a resident of Batagund Tral.
Police in a statement said, acting on information, special Naka was placed at Nambal crossing and two drug peddlers were arrested. 17 bottles of controlled drug Codeine Phosphate based syrup and 39 Spasmo-Prohyvon tablets was also recovered from their possession.
A vehicle (Jeep) Thar bearing Registration Number JK01X4920 was also seized.
A Case FIR Number 102/2020 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.
