Türkiye Link Emerges in Delhi Blast Probe as J&K Police Track Fugitive Kashmiri Doctor

A possible Türkiye link has emerged in the Delhi blast probe.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police have identified a connection between Türkiye and the doctors suspected to be involved in Monday’s car explosion near Red Fort. Police have requested a Red Corner Notice from Interpol against Dr Muzaffar, a resident of Qazigund, Kashmir, who is believed to be somewhere in Afghanistan.

Dr Muzaffar is the brother of Dr Adeel, one of the eight people arrested in the case. The group includes three doctors, with seven of the eight detainees from Kashmir and one woman doctor from Lucknow.

Investigators say Dr Muzaffar’s name came up during the interrogation of the arrested suspects. He was reportedly part of a group of Kashmiri doctors who travelled to Türkiye in 2021, along with Dr Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Umar Nabi.

According to reports, Dr Umar Nabi was driving the explosives-laden car that detonated outside Red Fort, killing 13 people.

Police sources say Dr Muzaffar travelled from Delhi to Dubai in August and then moved to Afghanistan. He is believed to have stayed with the other Kashmiri doctors for 21 days before leaving.

Investigators are also examining whether this group of doctors had any link with Dr Asif Dar, another Kashmiri doctor who posted anti-India videos from Türkiye and was involved in online radicalisation of Kashmiri youth.
