Traffic Restored Partially On Srinagar-Jammu Highway, Only Stranded Vehicles To Ply Towards Kashmir
Srinagar: One-way traffic movement was restored on Sunday on Srinagar-Jammu highway with only stranded vehicles allowed to ply from Jammu to Srinagar, a traffic official said.
Dy SP Traffic Highway Banihal Pardeep Singh Sen said the highway was partially opened for traffic towards Srinagar only for stranded vehicles.
Sen said shooting stones were coming down at Pantiyal and Mom Passi areas of Ramban district and that they were managing traffic at the affected areas.
The 270-km long highway, the only all weather road linking Kashmir valley with the rest of India, was closed due to fresh landslides at Mom Passi in Ramsu area on Saturday due to which hundreds of vehicles got stranded at different places.
