Thieves steal cattle in Shopian village, locals demand strict action

Shopian: Thieves on prowl four cows have been stolen from village Kumdalan in district Shopian in between the night of 21th and 24th July.

Several residents of Kumdalan Tachloo Chakoora Check Sidiq Khan are on protest and were demanding toughest action against the accused persons.

They said that from couple of days several cattle’s has been stolen in the area which left the locality in distress. They added the locals approached the authorities in this regard but they failed to take any serious step in the direction.

Locals alleged that the incidents are not fresh but in recent past cattle smugglers were on prowl.

They said despite the matter was brought into the notice of authorities, they kept deep mum.

Locals further added that if stealing attempts are not stopped forthwith, they will come with massive protest whose responsibility lies on the shoulders of apathetic officials.
