Teenager slipped into Jhelum, body fished out after six days

SRINAGAR: The body of 17-year-old teenager who slipped into the Jhelum river in Srinagar was recovered on Thursday at Noorbagh area of Srinagar.

A police official told that a youth identified as Momin Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar, 11th standard student from Rampora Veer Chattabal, slipped into Jhelum river when he was crossing the foot bridge in the area on May 21.

The body of the youth was recovered by the River Police on Thursday morning at Zuzarbal in Noorbagh, he added.

He said that the body was handed over to police for necessary medico-legal formalities and accordingly will be handed over to his relatives for his burial.

Police have already taken cognizance of the incident, he added. (KDC)
