Teenager Arrested For Raping Minor Girl In Baramulla

SRINAGAR – Police on Friday said that it has arrested a rape accused from Pattan area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police in a statement said, “On 6th May, Police Post Mirgund received a written complaint from Gh Mohammad Dar S/O Abdul Rehman Dar R/O Odina Pattan stating that his 14-year-old minor daughter (name withheld) was raped by Asif Hussain Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat from same village.”

“The accused was well aware about his act and was trying to evade his arrest. Police Party of Police Post Mirgund acted swiftly and arrested the accused,” the statement added.

Meanwhile Police Station Pattan has registered a case under relevant sections of law. Further investigation is in progress. – (KIMS)
