Teacher Suspended for Political Activity During MCC Period

Teacher, . Shazia Amin, Grade-II at Government Middle School Dhangri, Zone Sathra, has been suspended for her involvement in political activities, which violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the ongoing elections to the J&K Legislative Assembly.

Returning Officer for the 89-Poonch Haveli Assembly constituency, in a communication dated 04-09-2024, reported her involvement in a political rally, with photographs of the event going viral on social media.

ANN News had previously highlighted her participation in political activities, raising local concerns about the implications and potential outcomes of the inquiry. In light of the allegations and as directed by the Returning Officer, Mtr. Shazia Amin has been placed under suspension and is currently attached to DNRMM Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch until further notice.

An inquiry has been launched to investigate her conduct, with the Principals of Model Higher Secondary School Sawjian and DNRMM Girls Higher Secondary School Poonch appointed as the inquiry officers. They are expected to submit a detailed report on the MCC violation within a week, which will determine further action in the matter.
