Superb tracking, fast paced action and the stunning arrest!
The shootout was stunning and three got knocked out but the police hit the bulls eye when they got the first clue from Jaana Bibi!
-‘When one tries to rise above ambitions one is liable to fall below it. The three accused that they could, for a moment they did in RS. Pura. Probably at the back of their mind they also knew that they were wrong. Probably their families also knew that but still they opted for a ridiculous option! What they achieve ultimately! Iron bars!’

I will say that life is full of sentences that we get as sketches in our brains and most of them we do not interpret. For example, a fortune for one man that was more than he needed should not be built on ten thousand ruined men who were left without the means of life. Most of the murderous killings happen because of this reason! In RS Pura the reason was the same! Ugly money transactions! I know the reason but will not say so!

The killing was by a bullet and the weapon of offence had to be a gun! It was! Jammu Police found that out!’

-‘Giving details Chandan Kohli, IPS SSP Jammu said that ‘a firing incident took place on 5th November 2021 in which four persons received bullet injuries out of which two succumbed on spot while the third person succumbed to his injuries at GMC Jammu. After the incident, the accused fled from the spot and dumped the weapon of the offence in a hideout.’
-’On this, an instant case FIR no. 77/2021 U/S 302/307IPC, 3/25, 4/25 Arms Act got registered in Police station Arnia and investigation started.’

‘Our name is J&K Police and It is our business to know what other people do not know better be careful what you do not know or unknowingly do not so! Commit a crime and be rest assured we will get you. This is what Chandan Kohli and his team did here!’
I do not know how many of my readers would have read Arthur Conan Doyle’s, ‘The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle’. I suggest most of the investigating officers if a crime has occurred should be reading it. One paragraph I will relate from there, ‘Holmes (Sherlock) took up the stone and held it against the light. It’s a bonny thing, he said. Just see how it glints and sparkles. Of course it is a nucleus and focus of crime. Every good stone is. They are the devil’s pet baits. In the larger and older jewels every facet may stand for a bloody deed. This stone is not yet twenty years old. It was found in the banks of the Amoy River in southern China and is remarkable in having every characteristic of the carbuncle, save that it is blue in shade instead of ruby red. In spite of its youth, it already has a sinister history. There have been two murders, a vitriol-throwing, a suicide, and several robberies brought about for the sake of this forty-grain weight of crystallized charcoal. Who would think that such a pretty toy would be a purveyor to the gallows and the prison?’ Here the toys were paper bucks in abundance which wilted and the murders occurred!
I This was how the murders were traced out:
*Anyway for speedy and time bound investigation Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted headed by SP Hqrs. Jammu, Ramnish Gupta.
*On 8th November an information was received that wife of one of the accused Sadeeq Choudhary namely Jaana Bibi had kept the weapon in a hideout, she was questioned thoroughly after which she confessed the crime and led the Police party to the hideout and finally the weapon was recovered from there after all legal formalities.
* SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli further said that in the morning a reliable information was received by Special Investigation Team and three teams were constituted under SDPO RS Pura Shabir Khan comprising of Harjeet Singh SHO Arnia, Jaipaul Sharma SHO RS Pura and Sultan Mirza SHO Miran Sahib! All three are great investigators in their own respects! Obviously the game was on big time!
* They finally zeroed in on the accused in the outskirts of Kathua and finally arrested them along with one of their accomplice with the support of Kathua Police. This has been done under supervision of SP Hqrs Ramnish Gupta. If I know Ramnish correctly he looks like a sparkling apple with a dynamite-like brain! Great work done by Jammu Police is in fact outstandingly spectacular! More of it is required!
II. The details of the arrested person and subsequent actions that Police took were:-
*Sadeeq Chowdhary S/O Naseeb Ali R/O Arnia.
* Bhupinder Singh S/O Amreek Singh R/O RS Pura both main accused in the case where as Gulab din alias Ghaisa S/O Mareed Ali R/O Sarore, Samba who harbored the accused was also arrested.
* One revolver along with 10 cartridges was also recovered from one of the accused Bhupinder Singh.
* Four vehicles used in Crime stand recovered, viz Tata Harrier no. JK 02 CQ 7308, Mahindra Thar JK 21 G 9888, Mahindra Scorpio JK 02 BM 3333, Chevrolet Beat JK 02 BA 8375.
* On further questioning of the accused Police raided the house of the accused Bhupinder Singh and recovered three 12 bore guns, some sharp edged weapons, 10 gms heroine and 2 Lakh Indian currency.
* Subsequently FIR Nos 214/2021 US 3/25,4/25 Arms Act and FIR no 215/2021 US 8/21 , 22, 27(a) NDPS Act was lodged at Police station RS Pura and FIR No 79/2021 US 8/21/22 NDPS Act at Police station Arnia.
* It is pertinent to mention that one of the accused namely Sadeeq Choudhary was working in the Police department and was dismissed from service and dis-engaged in the year 2019.
* Moreover Gulab Din alias Ghaisa who has harboured the accused persons is a notorious criminal and several complaints and FIRs were registered against him in PS Bari Brahmana and other Police stations!
I have never had great experiences with Police but in childhood I had many and one of them happened to be an IG in Jammu and Kashmir Police because my mom is from the Wazir family. The great suave and smiling gentleman told me once, ‘ never trust general impressions, my boy, but concentrate yourself upon details. My first glance is always at a woman’s sleeve. In a man, it is perhaps better to take the knee of the trouser.’ I think till date I think he was never wrong! In this case the three investigation teams were never! The woman led to the disclosure! Finally chance is put in our way a most singular and whimsical problem, and its solution is its own reward! That is that is in solving murders!
