Successful Conviction in NDPS Act Case by the Prosecution
The Prosecution is pleased to announce the successful conviction of four individuals in Case FIR No. 21/21, registered under Sections 8/20, 22, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Police Station Yaripora. The convicted individuals—Md Aslam War, Bilal Ahmad Hanji, Mehraj-u-Deen Wani, and Waqar Ahmad Dar—have been found guilty of the illegal possession and transportation of narcotic substances. The case is scheduled for arguments on the quantum of punishment on 30th January 2025.
The conviction stems from a routine Nakka checking conducted by vigilant police personnel, during which the accused were intercepted while traveling in a vehicle. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 42 bottles of intoxicating drugs and a quantity of Charas. Following a comprehensive investigation and robust prosecution, the Hon’ble Court has delivered a judgment holding all four accused guilty under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act.
This outcome underscores the unwavering commitment of law enforcement agencies and the prosecution to combat the menace of drug trafficking. It also sends a strong and clear message that drug-related offenses will be dealt with the utmost seriousness to safeguard society.
