State Media Secretary Expresses Condolences for Doda Bus Accident Tragedy
Srinagar Nov 15 : A bus carrying passengers on the Batote-Kishtwar national highway in the Doda region of Jammu and Kashmir tragically went off the road and fell into a 300-foot chasm close to Trungal-Assar. In addition to multiple injuries, the catastrophe claimed the lives of 38 people.
Er Sahil Bashir Bhat, the State Media Secretary and Incharge of Social Media for Kashmir, expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the families affected by this tragic event. The bus, bearing registration number JK02CN-6555, was reportedly carrying around 40 passengers.
Quoting the LG Administration and Deputy Commissioner Harvinder Singh, Er Sahil Bashir conveyed, “Deeply Saddened and Pained by the loss of precious lives in a terrible road accident at Assar (Doda), wherein many persons have lost their lives and several others are seriously injured. It is heart-wrenching, and my thoughts go out to all family members of the deceased. May God give them strength, and prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured. Request @OfficeOfLGJandK and District administration for possible assistance.”
Rescue operations are currently underway, with the injured being shifted to GMC Doda and GMC Jammu as per requirements. All possible help is being provided, and sincere condolences are extended to the bereaved families. The tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stringent measures to prevent such accidents in the future
