State Level Junior Lawn Tennis Tournament on 125th Birthday Anniversary of Brig Rajinder Singh

Rampur, 22 July 2024 – The inaugural Brig Rajinder Singh Lawn Tennis Tournament commenced on 18th July 24 at the TB Henderson Brooks Tennis Court, Pir Panjal Brigade, Rampur, Baramulla marking a significant step towards promoting sportsmanship and physical fitness among the young boys and girls of J&K .

The tournament, spanning from 18 to 22 July 2024, featured participants in under-12 and under-16 categories, competing in both singles and doubles events. This initiative aims to encourage young athletes to embrace a healthy lifestyle through the sport of tennis.

The opening ceremony witnessed a gathering of enthusiastic players, their families, and local sports enthusiasts. Brigadier Rajinder Singh, after whom the tournament is named, was celebrated for his contributions to the nation, and his legacy continues to inspire young talents.

Over the pd of 5 days, players were engaged in rigorous matches, showcasing their skills and determination. The tournament’s finals was commenced on 22 July 2024, where the winners & runner-up in each category were awarded.

Dagger Division and Pir Panjal Brigade expressed its gratitude for the support from the community and emphasized the importance of such events in fostering camaraderie and discipline among the youth. The tournament is expected to become an annual tradition, contributing to the growth of tennis and overall physical well-being in the region.
