SSP SHOPIAN HOLDS CRIME REVIEW MEETING ON UAPA AND NDPS CASES
Shopian, October 16 : To review the progress and status of cases registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), SSP Shopian, Shri Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary-JKPS, today chaired a detailed review meeting at the Conference Hall, DPO Shopian.
The meeting was attended by ASP Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian, SDPO Imamsahib, DySP DAR Shopian, besides all SHOs and IC PPs of the district.
During the meeting, a comprehensive discussion was held regarding the progress of investigations, disposal rate and challenges in the prosecution of UAPA and NDPS cases. SSP Shopian emphasized the need for professional investigation, timely filing of charge sheets, and close monitoring of ongoing trials to ensure effective conviction rates.
Highlighting the menace of drug trafficking and its deep societal impact, SSP Shopian directed officers to intensify anti-narcotics operations, identify key peddlers and suppliers, and strengthen coordination with other enforcement agencies to dismantle the drug network.
While reviewing UAPA cases, he stressed the importance of thorough evidence collection, adherence to legal protocols and close coordination with intelligence units for effective case building against elements involved in unlawful and subversive activities.
SSP Shopian further directed field officers to maintain meticulous case documentation, ensure strict compliance with SOPs and make optimal use of modern investigative tools to enhance the quality of investigations.
