Srinagar Police Takes Action Against Family Members of Notorious Criminal

 

Srinagar: Srinagar Police have initiated action against the family members of Noor Mohammad Bhat, a notorious criminal residing in Kondenpeth Nigeen, for causing disturbances at the Nigeen Police Station and spreading false allegations and misinformation through social media platforms. The police’s swift response underscores the growing concern over the misuse of social media to spread misinformation and undermine law enforcement efforts.

 

 

 

 

Noor Mohammad Bhat is known for his involvement in various criminal activities, including usury, extortion, and kidnappings, which pose a significant threat to public order. Due to his repeated offenses, numerous First Information Reports (FIRs) have been lodged against him by members of the public, prompting the authorities to detain him under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

 

 

 

 

 

The police action against Bhat’s family comes after they reportedly created disturbances at the Nigeen Police Station, escalating tensions and obstructing police procedures. Additionally, videos containing false allegations against the police were circulated on social media by the family members, further complicating the situation.

 

 

 

 

A police spokesperson stated, “The disruptive actions by the family of Noor Mohammad Bhat, coupled with the spread of misinformation on social media, are attempts to mislead the public and undermine the legal process. The police will not tolerate such behavior, and necessary action will be taken in accordance with the law.”
