Srinagar Police Cracks Theft Case — Gold Ornaments and Property Worth Lakhs Recovered
Srinagar, July 12, 2025:
In a swift and professional action, Srinagar Police have solved a theft case reported by Mujeeb Ahmad Koul, S/o Noor-ud-Din Koul, R/o Malaratta, who stated that on 05/07/2025, unknown person(s) had broken into his residence and stolen gold ornaments worth several lakhs.
Acting promptly, a case (FIR No. 35/2025) was registered at Police Station Nowhatta, and an investigation led by SHO Nowhatta was initiated.
During the investigation, one suspect, Aman Javeed Zogi, S/o Javeed Ahmad Zogi, R/o Sarafkadal, was apprehended. His involvement was soon established, leading to the arrest of two accomplices:
Asif Zahoor Khan, S/o Zahoor Khan, R/o Wantpora Sazgaripora
Salik Fayaz, S/o Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh, R/o Mughal Masjid
Srinagar Police have recovered the following items based on their disclosures:
Gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹8–10 lakhs
Two iPhone 16 Pro devices worth ₹2 lakhs
One motorcycle worth ₹1.5 lakhs
Cash amounting to ₹42,000
Preliminary findings suggest that these items were purchased using the proceeds of the stolen gold or by selling it.
Further investigation is underway to trace any additional stolen property and identify possible involvement of other individuals.
