Srinagar Police Arrests Two Absconders Evading Arrest For Years
Srinagar, October 15, 2025 :
In its ongoing crackdown on Absconders and Proclaimed Offenders, Srinagar Police has apprehended two long-time absconders, residents of Bemina and Panthachowk, who have been evading arrest for 12 years and 4 years respectively.
The arrested individuals have been identified as :
1. Waseem Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, a resident of Al-Farooq Colony, presently residing in Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, who has been absconding since 2013.
2. Ab Rashid Shiekh son of Ab Ahad Shiekh resident of Athwajan Panthachowk, who has been absconding since 2021.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Police team launched a targeted operations and apprehended the absconders after persistent efforts. Following their arrest, the necessary legal formalities were completed, and the accused persons were produced before the concerned Hon’ble Court in Srinagar.
