SP College organises workshop on ‘Nurturing Beautiful Minds’
SRINAGAR, MAY 13: The Mentor-Mentee Committee of Sri Pratap College organised a one day workshop on the theme “Nurturing Beautiful Minds”: An initiative for Adolescent Mental Wellbeing,. The workshop aimed at promoting a strong mental and physical development of the student community by providing a supportive environment that encourages holistic individual growth.
The Principal SP College, Prof (Dr) Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi in his keynote address emphasized on the importance of healthy mind-healthy body balance and the need of youth to be focussed as nation builders. Dr Syed Misbah Zahoor, Convenor of the committee in her address highlighted the importance of personality development for individuals to identify their strengths and weaknesses.
Expert on the occasion, Dr Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Director Youth Development Centre, in a very articulate manner talked about the imperativeness of a positive state of mind and taking care of one’s emotional, psychological and social well being. In the technical session, Dr Suhail Ahmad Bhat, gave psychometric tests to the students to evaluate the academic as well as other types of stress levels among them.
The session was quite enriching for the participants and pertinent questions were raised related to mental health issues. The proceedings of the event were managed by Dr. Javaid Hassan, Dept of Zoology and vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Khursheed Ahmad Parray, Dept of Geology.
