South Kashmir residents suffer as Power play ‘Hide and Seek’
Pulwama: The residents of Pulwama, Shopian and Anantnag villages in South Kashmir are suffering due to unscheduled power cuts in their areas. The villagers in these twin districts are irked as power is playing ‘Hide and Seek’.
There is still winter schedule applied in our areas having two hour electricity and four hour break. But we are not getting electricity for even two hours as well. From last few weeks, the problem has worsened as we have never seen electricity due to frequent power cuts during this schedule also.
The residents while talking to City FM JK said, “We are facing immense problems due to irrational and useless power curtailment schedule. Our children are not able to study well during evening hours” adding “In this Coronavirus Pandemic when government also has announced to study at home with the help of internet, we are unable to use our gadgets because of non availability of electricity and it’s a big concern.”
“We are not able to do our work daily due to unscheduled power cuts due to which our business is suffering a lot and we are facing huge loses” said residents. Adding “electricity is one of the basic necessities in this era.”
We receive electricity bills at the end of every month and we also pay our dues as well on time but we never saw electricity as per given schedule. We appeal to PDD (Power Development Department) to take a serious note of our grievances and intervene in this matter.
“We appeal to authorities to solve our grievance and give us electricity as per scheduled time” said, residents.
