South Kashmir District’s Shut To Mourn Militants, Civilian Killings
Pulwama: Normal life was crippled on Saturday as complete shutdown was observed in all four district’s of South Kashmir against the killing of six militants and a civilian.
All shops, schools, business establishments etc. were closed in Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam district’s of South Kashmir while as traffic movement was also not visible on roads.
As a precautionary measure railway authorities suspended Banihal-Srinagar train service on Saturday to avoid any law and order problem. Further authorities also snapped down internet services in Anantnag district as a precautionary measure.
Pertinently six militants were killed in a brief encounter at Setkipora area in Bijbehara town of Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Friday.
A young girl Identified as Muskaan Jan, daughter of Gh Nabi Wani, a resident of Wanigund, Qaimoh in Kulgam district also succumbed to her injures at SKIMS, Srinagar this morning.
She was injured during crossfire when Army camp inside SKAUST research centre in Khudwani area of Kulgam district was attacked by militants on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown was also observed in poll-bound areas in Kashmir valley on (JRL) Joint Resistance Leadership’s call.
