Sopore Police arrests seven gamblers, recovered Stake money and playing cards
Sopore, 10 April 2024:
Sopore Police have arrested 07 gamblers and recovered stake money and playing cards from their possession.
A police party of Police Station Sopore headed by SHO PS Sopore Insp. Nissar Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Shri. Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS apprehended 07 gamblers at Neharpora Orchards & recovered stake money of ₹6100/- & playing cards from their possession.
They have been identified as:
1. Sameer Ahmad Shah S/O Mohammad Yosuf Shah R/O Neharpora Sopore
2. Mohammad Shaban Changa S/O Mohammad Sultan Changa R/O Hyder Colony Sopore
3. Jahangir Ahmad Bhat S/O Farooq Ahmad Bhat R/O Hyder Colony Sopore
4. Bashir Ahmad sheikh S/O Mohammad Kamal sheikh R/O Hyder Colony Sopore
5. Ghulam Nabi Ganie S/O Ghulam Ahmad Ganie R/O Hyder Colony Sopore
6. Ashiq Hussain Wandroo S/O Ghulam Hassan Wandroo R/O Hyder Colony Sopore and
7. Mohd Lateef Kuloo S/O Abdul Salam Kuloo R/O Hyder Colony Sopore.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 81/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at PS Sopore and investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in criminal activities shall be strictly dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
