Sopore encounter ends with killing of two militants

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter between government forces and militants at Hardshiva area in Sopore town in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

A police officer told that two bodies were found near the debris of encounter site and their identification is yet to be ascertained. Adding two AK 47 rifles were recovered form them.

Earlier government forces including Army’s 22 RR, CRPF and J&K Police had launched cordon and search operation in the area following the inputs about presence of militants in the area.

Meanwhile as a precautionary measure authorities have snapped down mobile internet services in Sopore town.
