Some former J&K legislators likely to join AAP

Many Srinagar corporators flew Delhi to join party

Srinagar, April 7: Several former J&K legislators are all set to join Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi, sources said.

Encouraged by recent Punjab poll results, Aam Aadmi Party has intensified its efforts to make “successful inroads” in J&K and contest assembly polls on all seats, Delhi based sources toldf ANN News.

 

 

If sources are to be believed, Congress leader Tariq Hamid Karra is also likely to join AAP in coming days.

A District Development Member from Sonwari, corporators from Srinagar and some known faces from South Kashmir are also finalzing terms and conditions with mediators for joining the party.

 

 

On Thursday, as many as twenty corporators from Srinagar flew to Delhi by afternoon fight and are scheduled to join the AAP party in Delhi in presence of APP party high command on Friday.

 

 

 

Sources said that AAP is also mulling to field its candidates in assembly polls of J&K.

To welcome former legisltors of J&K in party fold is going on through mediators, relaible sources said.

AAP has appointed Salahudin as mediator for Kashmir and Pradeep Mittal for Jammu and “serious talks” with various former legislators are goin on .

 

 

 

“The talks are going on and in coming days several former legisltoars will join AAP in Delhi. During the proposed event, Arvind Kejrival will welcome them al in the party fold,” said sources.

In recent assembly polls, AAP has bagged a historic win in Punjab Assembly polls by winning a three-fourths majority with 92 seats – the highest number of seats won by any party in the state in over four decades.

The ruling Congress managed to secure 18 seats in the 117-member Assembly while Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ended up with two. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has bagged three seats and Bahujan Samaj Party has won only one.

 

 

 

Aam Aadmi Party was founded in November 2012 by Arvind Kejriwal and his companions. It is currently the ruling party of two governments: Delhi and Punjab.
