Six Youth Arrested During Nocturnal Raid In Sopore
Sopore: Atleast six youth arrested by police during a nocturnal raid in parts of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday night.
The raids were conducted in parts of Sopore town days after a local militant’s killing.
Sopore town remained shut for three days amid massive clashes in different areas againt the killing of local militant Mehraj ul Din Khan alias Marouf of New Colony Sopore who was killed along with Top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Naveed Jatt in a gunfight with government forces at Chattergam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district last week.
Reports said that forces raided many houses in Nowpora, Arampora and other areas of town at around 11 pm and amid massive shelling arrested at least six youth.
Meanwhile a senior police official told that the forces in the dead of night surrounded a cluster of houses and arrested the youth for the alleged involvement in stone pelting incidents. (KD)
