Sikh Community Protest In Mattan, Demand Arrest Of Culprits Involved In Abduction Of Two Girls
Anantnag: Hundreds of people today protested and blocked the Khanabal-Pahalgam (KP) road in Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The protesting residents were demanding the arrest of culprits involved in the abduction of two minor Sikh girls from the area.
The protesters said that two minor school girls of the Sikh community boarded a vehicle after mistaking it for a taxi around 9:30 am in Mattan area on Tuesday.
The girls were recovered several hours later at around 2 pm from Aloochi Bagh area of Srinagar in an unconscious state.
The protesters from Mattan and Chattisinghpura area blocked the Khanabal-Pahalgam (KP) road today to demand arrest of the culprits.
Meanwhile, a police official confirmed that a case, vide FIR number 55 under section 363 RPC has been registered at Mattan police station.
“We are investigating the case,” said the official.
He said the medical examination of the girls has been conducted and it has ruled out any sexual assault.
