Shopian Encounter Case: Arrested two persons sent for eight days judicial remand

Shopian: Two persons who were arrested in connection with an encounter in Amshipora village in Shopian district on July 18 this year have been sent for eight days judicial remand.

The duo were produced in District Court Shopian by police on Tuesday and have been sent for eight days judicial remand.

Pertinently it is to mention that three labourers from Rajouri district in Jammu division were killed in a fake encounter in Ashmipora Shopian on July 18.

Earlier, army had also admitted that powers vested under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) were exceeded.

The DNA tests of the trio also matched with slain Rajouri youths. Further investigation into the case is going on.
