Appeals people to not pay heed to misinformation

Srinagar, June 20: Shopain Police has booked Facebook page for spreading rumors on social media.
The case vide FIR number 43/2022 for the criminal acts falling under sections 153 IPC and 505(1)b IPC has been registered against the handler of Facebook The Real Kashmir News Facebook page.
“The case stands registered for spreading fake and baseless news with the intention to mislead the general public about the Chandigam Lolab encounter and investigation has been set into motion,” said an official.
Police has reiterated its requested to general public to not to pay heed towards these rumours.
“Legal action will be taken against those spreading fake and baseless information on the social media,” said a Police official.
Meanwhile Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar said that strict action under law will be taken against rumor mongers.
