Since his appointment, Sharma has visited the Valley and Jammu region scores of times and spoken to groups of youth, women and traders as also members of political parties.
In Kashmir, there is good number of youth who want to share their views, opinions and feedback with Sharma but out of cameras.
These highly qualified youth want to appraise Sharma with ground zero situation and to suggest some measures for brining permanent peace in Kashmir.
“Yes, I have some valuable feedback and suggestions, I want to share with Mr Sharma. However, officers on duty with him will disclose my name and meeting to media. Later, I have to face tags from separatists,” said one of the Srinagar based youth, who wished not to be named.
While sharing his views about the necessary measures those need to be taken for maximum participation of public in upcoming panchayat and municipal polls, he said that absence of these measures are reason for negligible candidates filing nomination papers for these polls in Kashmir.
“I wish I can call on Sharma, talk to him and may he find meeting fruitful. My only wish is to see Kashmir peaceful forever,” he added.
Similarly, a group of youth has also “something valuable to share” with him.
“We fear disclosure of our names to media as that will make us scapegoat within our society,” they said.
These youth termed the appointment of Sharma and his visits to Kashmir as “welcome and optimistic initiative.”
“We can see Sharma is serious in listening and resolving our issues. We hope his suggestions will be implemetned by Government of India,” they said, adding, “Our views and opinions are unposted letters to him. We wish we post them for his reading.”
