Several Mohallas of Anantnag town have no Ration store, Residents demand Ration store in area.

Anantnag: Residents of several Mohallas including hazratbal payeen, Malakhnag, shawala mandir, mohalla sadak khajimir Ali & Green colony in Anantnag district have no Ration store in their area.

Accoring to the residents, Earlier the department had their own Ration distribution store in the area but unfortunately they have shifted that ration store to Ashajipira which is about 1 km away from the main town of Anantnag resulting to face the problems by residents.

A locak resident Advocate Muzamil Shah told to ANN that due to shifting of ration store to another place this becoming hectic for the residents to get ration from store whichbis away from 1 km. The shifting of ration store make our life difficult especially for women and elderly people who always went there to get ration for their family members .

Residents are demanding for reestablishment of ration store in the area, the admin should construct a ration store in the vicinity. We have requested several times to Deputy Commissioner Anantnag to look into the matter

While contacting AD Food Anantnag Mr. Mudasir Wani he said that department will relocate this PDS as we receive any alternative in the area. We will look into the matter & try to sort out the issue on priority basis.
