Several Booked In Ramban For ‘Blasphemous’ Posts On Social Media Against Prophet Mohammed
JAMMU (KIMS) — The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday booked several persons in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir for ‘blasphemous’ posts on Social Media against the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
While condemning the acts of blasphemy against the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), the Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary said that the administration has zero tolerance for such provocative behavior.
He also assured swift actions against the persons involved.
“Ensuring that those responsible face rightful consequences. Zero tolerance for such provocative behaviour. Urged public to prioritise communal harmony and respect for all sentiments,” the Deputy Commissioner said in a post on X.
He said that the police has filed FIR against the culprits under sections 295-A, 153-A, 298, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
“Police has filed cases under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings), 153-A (promoting enmity between different group), 298 (wounding the religious feelings), and 505 (public mischief with incitement), the post said. — (KIMS)
