Security Checks Increased Across Srinagar for Public Safety

Srinagar, Dec 22: Security agencies on Monday intensified checking operations across different parts of Srinagar as part of routine measures to enhance vigilance and ensure public safety, officials said.

Joint teams of the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the CRPF were deployed at pivotal locations, including busy markets, main intersections, and other sensitive points across the city. During the drive, vehicles were stopped, documents were checked, and commuters were briefly questioned, officials added.

Security officials told that the increased checking is meant to maintain alertness in crowded areas and ensure smooth movement of people during the ongoing winter rush.

They said the exercise is a preventive step to further strengthen the security grid and maintain public order.

Officials emphasized that such checks are part of the regular multi-agency surveillance system used to monitor movement and ensure safety across Srinagar.
