SC Adjourns TIll January 2019 Hearing In Ayodhya Title Suit
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday adjourned till January 2019 the hearing in pleas challenging the Allahabad High Court’s 2010 verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute.
A three-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justices Sanjay Kishan Kaul and KM Joseph was hearing the matter.
In 2010, the Allahabad High Court had divided the disputed land on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid area into three parts among Ram Lalla, Nirmohi Akhada and the Sunni Waqf Board.
On September 27, the SC had declined to refer to a five-judge constitution bench te issue of reconsideration of the observations in its 1994 judgment that a mosque was not integral to Islam.
