“Save Youth Save Future” Foundation Hosts Kashmir Conclave to Tackle Media Literacy and Promote Reliable Reporting

“Save Youth Save Future” (SYSF) Foundation took a significant step in combating misinformation by convening a crucial conclave at the Auditorium Hall, Government Degree College Khanabal, Anantnag. The primary focus of the event was to bolster media literacy and ensure trustworthy reporting.

The gathering commenced with a warm welcome to esteemed dignitaries by Ms. Taranum, a renowned journalist from Budgam, who also presided as the host for the occasion. The program opened with a Quranic Tilawat and Naate Shareef, setting a reverent tone for the insightful discussions that followed.

Anika Nazir, the “Women’s Wing Head” of SYSF, delivered a comprehensive introduction to the foundation, outlining the event’s objectives. Ms. Nazir emphasized the impact of misinformation and disinformation, shedding light on the expectations of women from the media fraternity.

Mr. Tariq Ahmed Bhat, a senior journalist and CEO of ANN News, delved into the critical importance of credible reporting. Following this, Mr. Tasaduq Rashid, a senior journalist from Anantnag, stressed the need for promoting media literacy in Kashmir, recognizing its pivotal role in fostering a well-informed society.

Renowned religious scholar Mubashir Ahmed Veeri offered valuable insights into “Unraveling the Threads of Misinformation: A Religious Scholar’s Insight into its Dangers and Prohibitions in Islam,” highlighting the ethical considerations surrounding the dissemination of information.
