Samba: Bankers’ Seminar discusses measures to address credit issues in Agriculture and Allied sectors

SAMBA, JUNE 09: As part of series of events being conducted under Kisan Sampark Abhiyan to promote Holistic Agriculture Development Plan schemes, a seminar on Agricultural Credit Linked Schemes was held today in the conference hall of District Administration Complex Samba under the Chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Samba Abhishek Sharma.

The programme was organized by the organizing committee chaired by Additional District Development Commissioner,  Rajinder Singh,   District Nodal officer, Dr Satish Gangwal (District Sheep Husbandry Officer), Dr Rahul Dev, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Sanjay Verma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mukesh Sharma, Chief Horticulture Officer and Mrs Farkhanda Malik, Assistant Director, Fisheries.

The conference was attended by Visiting Officer District Samba, Ram Sevak, (Director Horticulture Jammu), Supervisory Officer District Samba, Dr Shubhra Sharma, (Director Animal Husbandry Jammu), Dr Vijay Kumar Sharma, Scientist KVK Samba, all the district heads of the banks including DDM NABARD, LDM Samba, Cluster-Head JK Bank, Regional Head JK Grameen Bank and other heads of Public and Private Sector banks as well as educated unemployed youth and entrepreneurs who intend to avail the benefits of these schemes.

DDM NABARD, Shailesh Sharma gave a detailed presentation regarding provision of financial assistance for farmers and agricultural entrepreneurs for promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing productivity. A detailed presentation regarding HADP schemes was also presented by the Departmental heads of Agriculture and Allied Departments.

Abhishek Sharma, District Development Commissioner Samba, exhorted the participating banks to extend whole hearted support to all farmers, especially small and marginal farmers in availing the credit for various schemes under HADP. He also laid emphasis on coordination among the Banks and Departments for spreading mass awareness about agriculture credit and beneficiary schemes.

 The DDC apprised the participants that a total of seven (7) rounds of Kisan Sampark Abhiyan under HADP have been conducted in 62 Panchayats in District Samba in which 8453 farmers participated, a baseline survey of 7787 was completed, 1602 farmers were registered on Daksh Kisan portal with 412 farmers registered for training in various courses and 49 smart cards were issued.

He also lauded the efforts of the officers of all the Departments involved in HADP for their successful implementation of Kissan Sampark Abhiyan in the district and registration of the farmers on various HADP portals (Kisan Sathi and DAKSH Kisan).

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Rahul Dev, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Samba and distribution of booklets with information about all the 47 schemes under HADP among the participants.
