Samba administration felicitates women on Women’s Day
SAMBA, MARCH 08: The District Administration of Samba held a Women’s Day celebration programme today at the Conference Hall of the DC Office. The event saw the felicitation of women achievers, elected representatives and other distinguished female guests.
Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the event and emphasised the importance of embracing equity, the theme of Women’s Day 2023. She also highlighted the theme of the year, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” and the need to reduce the digital gender gap for reducing economic and social inequalities.
During the programme, women achievers, elected representatives and other female guests were felicitated with mementos, appreciation certificates and gifts. The list of honorees included DDC members, BDC Chairman, councilors, successful entrepreneur Ramandeep Kour, J&K cricketer Nadia Choudhary Ranji, entrepreneur Shivalik Gupta and SHG women.
The event was conducted by the Department of Social Welfare, Samba and was attended by several officials, including PO ICDS Joginder Jasrotia, Chief Planning Officer Sukhleen Kour, DSWO, AD FCS&CA, AD Handicrafts, AD Employment, among others.
