Samba admin designates 22 locations for Pilgrims’ stay during Shri Amarnath Yatra

DC takes stock of arrangements at each place

SAMBA, MAY 07: Deputy Commissioner Anuradha Gupta on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for Amarnath Yatra 2022 during a daylong tour of the 22 places identified and designated for accommodation of the pilgrims.

The Deputy Commissioner visited all the locations identified for lodging and refreshment of Yatris in the district. She directed the district officers to take adequate measures in advance for smooth conduct of the yatra and complete the ongoing works. The DC visited identified locations including Government Schools, College buildings, Nonath Ashram, Temple premises at Ghagwal, Vijaypur, Barian, besides other places and inspected the availability of basic amenities for the Yatris.

She directed for augmentation of infrastructure to cater to the huge rush of yatris expected this year for the Yatra being held after two years due to Covid pandemic.

The Deputy Commissioner issued directions to the Nodal officers to take stock of the facilities including accommodation, drinking water, electricity, and sanitation for the yatris and ensure that the tasks assigned to them are completed within the stipulated time frame.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Suram Chand Sharma; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ravinder Kumar; Assistant Commissioner Development, Sidharath Dhiman; Sub Divisional Magistrate, Ghagwal, Ramkesh Sharma; besides Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, PDD, PWD and other concerned officers.
