Rise in water level in Wular Lake; authorities advised peoples Not to venture outside unnecessarily

Bandipora: Due to incessant rains, the water level in Wular Lake has increased with that the authorities advised alert for peoples living along the Lake here in north Kashmiris Bandipora district.

According to the officials, the teams of SDRF, revenue and other departments have been kept on alert and government buildings have been identified incase need arises to shift any population facing flood threat, adding that all concerned Tehsildars have passed directions for  preaper a  complete list living surrourindings  on the banks of Wullar.

Meanwhile ,district administration has advised peoples living on the bank of Wullar lake not to venture outside unnecessarily .

The locals said that it has been a week since water level in Wular is continuously increasing.

The people living in the peripheries especially fisherman said that there livelihood was affected as they were not able to venture out in the Lake to catch fish.

They added that the water was entering into the villages in low lying areas too which was getting them worried for their safety especially for the children. (KNS)
