Restrictions again imposed in Nowhatta after fresh protests
Srinagar, May 26 Restrictions were imposed again at Nowhatta area of old city after fresh protests erupted in the area.
Earlier, restrictions were withdrawn across Valley and life returned to normal on Sunday after two days of restrictions and shutdown called in the wake of the killing of militant commander Zakir Musa in an encounter with government forces in Pulwama district.
An official told KNO that restrictions were lifted across Valley after witnessing improvement in the situation.
“But we had to impose restrictions again in Nowhatta after fresh protests erupted in the area,” the police official told KNO. Shops and other business establishments re-opened Sunday morning while public transport started plying normally.
Earlier, mobile internet was also suspended on Thursday night across the valley, but the low-speed service was restored in most parts on Saturday evening following improvement in the situation.
“The high-speed mobile internet service continues to be suspended,” the official told KNO.
