Residents Of Kund Kraloo Cry For Bridge In Qazigund

Qazigund: More than ten years after its construction was first taken up, the Kund Kraloo-Orial bridge in Kulgam district remains far from completion.

With the passage of ten years, the administration has utterly failed to reconstruct the damaged Kund Qazigund bridge in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

Villagers through self service did some maintenance and laid wooden makeshift bolder on it but lack of the bridge over the stream is their main concern.

Locals said that the authorities as well as the politicians have made several assurances but have failed to come up to the expectations of the people.

“We are suffering a lot due to lack of road connectivity but nobody is paying any heed over our sufferings,” they said, adding that the worst suffers are school going children who have to cross this bridge twice a day to reach to their school.

“We want to educate our children but the authorities are creating hurdles in their way by not providing faculties to them,” they said.

He also added that if their demands were not fulfilled soon, they would be forced to intensify their agitation.

However residents of Kund Kraloo-Orial and its adjoining villages demanded authorities to reconstruction the bridge at the earliest so that the villagers could heave a sigh of relief.

While Contacted with AEE R&B Qazigund Ghulam Nabi Sheikh he said that the local administration has assured smooth flow of funds.

“If funds are released regularly, we will be able to complete the bridge.”
