Receiving Station Chanapora’s High Loss Feeder 1 Fully Upgraded and Charged on Cable

Chanapora, August 9, 2024 — In a notable achievement, the staff of Electric Division-II, Sub Division Chanapora have successfully charged the high-loss Feeder 1 of Receiving Station Chanapora entirely on cable. This significant upgrade, completed under the prestigious centrally sponsored Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), is set to improve power reliability in the region.

Feeder 1, which supplies energy to Nowgam area under the jurisdiction of Sub Division Chanapora, had been experiencing substantial energy losses. Through the proactive efforts of the team, and with the support of RDSS, the feeder has undergone a comprehensive overhaul. This includes not only the complete cabling of the high-loss feeder but also the installation of new transformers and the execution of LTAB (Low Tension Aerial Bunched) cabling works.

These enhancements have effectively curbed the high losses that previously affected the feeder, leading to a more stable and reliable power supply for the Nowgam area. The successful implementation of these upgrades has been widely praised by local community, underscoring the team’s commitment to modernizing the power distribution network.
