Ready to work without salary till situation of school improves: DPS Budgam Drivers Union
Budgam: Drivers Union Delhi Public School (DPS) Budgam Shikhpora addressed a Press Conference here at Press Club in Srinagar.
While addressing the Presser they said, they got a message in September 2020 from the School authorities that their services have been terminated.
President of the union Nazir Ahmad Rather said that they have been working as drivers, conductors in the school, for the last 10 to 13 years, but now we are being terminated from the services, which is injustice with us.
“On 15th September we were intimated through SMS messages that our services have been terminated and when we approached the management to provide us the reason for our retrenchment, they said that the school is suffering financial losses”, he said.
“We even approached the consumer court but they till date they have not taken any action on this matter”, President said.
“If school authorities say they have financial constraints, we are ready to work without salary till the financial situation of school improves, but our services should not be terminated”, said President Nazir Ahmad Rather.
Earlier Driver Union of DPS Budgam Sheikhpora had also protested and accused former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Saif-u-Din Soz, who is one of the founders of the school, of cheating them and had said, “The school had no access on road and villagers were promised a job against contributing land towards the construction of the road, but now they are shunting us out, under the pretext of financial loss.”
The Drivers Union DPS Budgam appealed and sought intervention of Honorable LG Manoj Sinha in this matter so that their livelihood can be saved. (KNT)
