Rang-e-Chinar 2025: NIT Srinagar Celebrates Cultural Diversity
Through Art and Expression
Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir | October 27, 2025:
The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar hosted its annual cultural festival, ‘Rang
e-Chinar’, on the 25th and 26th of October 2025. Set against the autumn backdrop of
Kashmir, the event witnessed a vibrant confluence of tradition, creativity, and youthful
expression.
The festival, an annual highlight on the institute’s calendar, is envisioned as a platform to
celebrate and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir while fostering a spirit of
inclusivity and innovation. This year’s edition, titled Rang-e-Chinar 2.0, was a reimagined
celebration—merging classical forms with contemporary interpretations across various
artistic domains.
A Celebration of Cultural Synthesis
The central theme of Rang-e-Chinar 2025 focused on honouring India’s diverse artistic
traditions while encouraging emerging voices in creative expression. A series of well-curated
events were held over two days, featuring:
Art & Visual Exhibitions – Including wall painting, stone painting, face painting, and a
themed photo gallery.
Performing Arts – A dynamic mix of classical and modern performances in music, dance,
drama, stand-up comedy, mimicry, and the traditional Ladishah.
Literary Expressions – Enthusiastic participation in poetry recitations, Mushaira, and open
mic sessions.
Interactive Installations & Recreational Zones – Such as a haunted house, game zone, and
talent showcases that attracted wide participation.
The event was open to students, faculty members, and participants from outside the
institute, making it a truly collaborative and inclusive cultural experience.
