Rafique Rather Resigns As President JK EJAC
SRINAGAR: Mohammad Rafique Rather, renowned trade union leader on Wednesday resigned as President (JK EJAC) Jammu and Kashmir Employees Joint Action Committee.
Rather in a letter to Senior Vice-President EJAC Mr Shabir Ahmad Langoo cited personal reasons for the resignation.
He however said that he will continue to work for the betterment of the community at all levels by all possible means.
Rather was elected to the post of President EJAC in the year 2020 under extremely hostile, adverse and unfavourable conditions.
A representative of state union said that his appointment as EJAC president came at a time when situation for employees of the state was so hostile that none dared to stand with the employees but the brave and bold persona of Rather made it possible and this leader stood with head high in support of employee community.
He stated that Mr Rather is leaving EJAC in a strong position with lot of visionary leaders to work for the community in future.
“Mr Rather has given this plateform all it needs to represent employee community. He will be always supporting EJAC and its leadership in future by all possible means as well,” he said.
