Questions raise on ECI over delay in polls in J&K: Omar Abdullah
Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a convention held at Poonch, former CM Omar Abdullah as per KNS said questions have raised on the functioning of ECI over delay in assembly elections in J&K. He said ECI cannot escape from the situation while saying it that final call on holding assembly polls in J&K has to be taken by GoI and J&K administration.
“This outlook depicts ECI and BJP are not in a mood to hold elections in J&K. We had repeatedly said why elections are not being held in J&K,” Omar Abdullah said.
To a query he said what is wrong in it if we talk of Late Vajpayee’s Insaniyat, Jamhooriyat and Kashmiriyat. “There is a need to promote Late Vajpayee’s Kashmir-oriented program. I won’t say only India has to make suitable atmosphere for dialogue but I will mention that Pakistan too is duty bound to create an atmosphere conducive for talks,” Omar said. (KNS)
