Pulwama Police Seizes Contraband During Naka Checking at Koil Pulwama

Pulwama, Dec 2: In its continued drive against drug trafficking, Pulwama Police recovered a significant quantity of contraband during a naka checking operation at Koil Pulwama near the bridge.

A team from Police Station Pulwama intercepted a suspect and recovered 1.190 kilograms of a charas-like powdered substance from his possession.

The accused has been identified as Tariq Ahmad Rather, son of Mohd Sabir Rather, a resident of Lajoora Pulwama.

Police said a case has been registered at Police Station Pulwama under FIR No. 279/2025, invoking Sections 8 and 20 of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.

Pulwama Police reaffirmed its commitment to combat drug trafficking and urged citizens to cooperate by sharing information related to drug peddling or other unlawful activities to help safeguard the community.
