Pulwama Police intensifies crackdown on illegal mining; Vehicles seized during night operation
PULWAMA (KIMS) — Pulwama Police on Thursday said it continues to intensify its crackdown against illegal mining across the district.
Police said during the intervening night of December 3 and 4, a team from Police Station Litter, while on routine patrolling, seized one JCB, one dumper and one tractor involved in unauthorized soil extraction at Astanpora Litter. The machinery has been taken into custody.
Police said an FIR No. 105/2025 under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 3 of the PDPP Act has been registered at Police Station Litter. Further investigation has been initiated.
Police urged the public to refrain from unlawful extraction and cooperate with authorities in protecting environmental and community interests. — (KIMS)
