Pulwama attack was planned by Modi to win elections, alleges ex-Mizoram Governor
New Delhi: Former Mizoram Governor Aziz Qureshi on Sunday alleged that the 14 February attack on CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama was planned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to win the Lok Sabha elections. Speaking in Madhya Pradesh, Qureshi, according to a video shared by news agency ANI, said, “You planned the attack to get another chance. But people understands this. If Modi Ji wanted to put crown on his head by killing 42 soldiers, people of the country won’t allow that.”
Over 40 soldiers were killed in the deadly suicide attack on a CRPF convoy in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. Following the attack, India conducted an air strike on Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps inside Pakistani territory. The strike, that came days ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, became a politcal issue with the prime minister asking first time voters to dedicade their vote to the martyrs of Pulwama attack and soldiers who carried out the attack.
Interestingly, while Modi and the entire BJP continue to target the Opposition Congress of speaking in the language of Pakistan, the country’s Prime Minister, Imran Khan, in a recent interview with foreign journalists, endorsed another term for the BJP.
Following Khan’s remarks, Opposition parties launched counter offensive against the saffron party, with several leaders questioning the timing of the Pulwama attack and Imran Khan’s “secret love” for PM Modi.
Refering to the Pakistani prime minister’s statement, AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the neighbouring country cannot get a better Indian prime minister than Narendra Modi who had allowed the ISI to visit the Pathankot air base, and is “implementing” Pakistan’s agenda.
“Four weeks back, a war-like situation prevailed between both the countries but now Imran Khan wants Modi to be the PM. Why is he saying so? Why does Pakistan want Modi to be PM again? Now people have started asking about the Pulwama attack,” he said.
Kejriwal further said that because of Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah, the unfulfilled agenda of Pakistan to divide India on the religious lines seems to be working.
“Pakistan failed to divide India on the religious lines in the last 70 years. But it is being made possible in the last five years because of Modi and Shah duo who have filled poison in the minds of the people. Pakistan cannot get better Indian prime minister than this. They (Shah and Modi) have implemented Pakistan’s agenda,” he said.
