Prostitution Racket Busted In Baramulla, Two Female Sex Workers Among Six Arrested

SRINAGAR (KIMS) — Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted a prostitution racket in Baramulla district of North Kashmir.

Police in a statement said, An information through reliable sources to the effect that some persons are involved in immoral activities in one rented house near Bus Stand Baramulla.

Acting upon the information, Police Party led by Inspr Vilayat Hussain, SHO Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of Sh. Altaf Ahmad-JKPS, DySP Hqrs Baramulla busted the prostitution racket, the statement said.

The racket was run by Lateef Ahmad Chechi son of Mohammad Younis Chechi resident of Malangam Bandipora (Tenant). Besides him Altaf Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Kralhar Baramulla, Khurshid Ahmad Chechi son of Abdul Rashid Chechi resident of Malangam Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Khan son of Saifuddin Khan resident of Qazi Hamam Baramulla and two female sex workers (name withheld) we’re detained, the statement said.

In this regard, a Case FIR No.136/2023 under sections 3, 4, 8 of Illicit Trafficking Prevention Act has been registered at Police Station Baramulla. — (KIMS)
