Private schools face scrutiny for unlawful practices

CEO Gbl orders probe into admission denial by private schools

Ganderbal: The education authorities in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district have ordered a probe into the allegations against two private schools for denying admission to the students.

The order to this effect has been issued by Chief Education Officer (CEO) Ganderbal, Muzamil Akhtar.

The order has been issued following a joint complaint submitted by residents of the neighboring areas, against Hilltop Educational Institute Darend and R P School Nagbal for denying admission and unlawfully charging banned admission fees.

“A joint complaint lodged by the residents of adjoining areas of hilltop institution Darend and RP school Nagbal regarding refusal of providing admission fee and charging/Demanding the banned admission fee in violation of the orders of the competent authorities issued on the subject,” reads the order issued by CEO Ganderbal, a copy of which lies with ANN News.

The Deputy CEO Ganderbal and principal of GHSS Tullamullah have been directed to conduct an in-depth inquiry and submit the report within two days.

“In this context you are directed to conduct the inspection of both the private schools and conduct an in-depth inquiry into the matter and submit a detailed report along with the clear cut recommendations within two days,” the order reads. (ANN News)
